The Swami Army Team would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family, friends and team mates of Australian Cricketer Phillip Hughes. His tragic passing has not only rocked the Australian cricket family, but also has had an impact on the cricket fraternity world-wide.
We were all looking forward to watching him do battle against Team India’s bowlers at some point this summer. Hughes was pushing his case to be included in the Test Team when he was tragically struck by the ball on 63 not out batting in the Sheffield Shield against NSW at the Sydney Cricket Ground. He will forever be on 63 not out.
We personally loved his unorthodox batting style and ability to keep bouncing back after numerous set-backs in his young career. He was known to be a humble and down-to-earth person, and was a very popular character amongst cricketers worldwide. He died doing what he loved best – scoring runs out in the middle.
We would also like to send a message of support to Sean Abbott, who was the bowler during this unfortunate incident.
